Police broke into fishmonger’s van after mistaking strong fishy smell for a CORPSE

A FUMING fish dealer is causing a stink after the Fin Blue Line wrecked her whiffy van — wrongly thinking a dead person was inside.
Amy Valentine, 28, claimed cops were chuckling as they told her the tail but it has cost her £5,240.
She had parked up on a Friday after getting a flat tyre but cops broke in on Sunday before she could fix it.
She then got a call from a pal saying four police cars and a fire engine were surrounding the vehicle in Chelmsley Wood, Solihull.
Amy said: “By the time I got there they had smashed the windows and ripped the doors.
“They said there was a swarm of flies at the front and they all assumed a body was inside.’’

The van, she says, was a write-off and had to be replaced.
West Midlands Police said: “We were called following concerns over strong smells emanating from a van.
"Officers forced entry because of welfare concerns.”
