THE wife of the man charged with murdering Paige Doherty has been forced to flee with her baby after vandals attacked her home and shop.
John Leathem’s wife Katya has left the flat where she lived with him and their baby after windows were smashed and eggs thrown, reports.
Tragic Paige, 15, was found dead last month from "sharp force" wounds to the neck.
Her body was found in bushes just a mile from her house in Clydebank, near Glasgow, Scotland.
The alarm was raised after she failed to arrive at her Saturday job at a hair salon.
Deli boss John Leathem, 31, appeared in court last month charged with her murder.
Katya is unlikely to return home and the windows have now been barricaded with metal shutters.
The sign at the couple’s takeaway has also been taken down and graffiti daubed on the walls.
Company records show Leathem and Katya bought the deli in 2014. Leathem is listed as owner and she is secretary.
Locals say police guarding the flat following Leathem’s arrest have now left.
“Some of the youngsters were quite open about smashing the windows of the flat as soon as the police moved out, so it would have been difficult for a young mother to return here.”

A neighbour said: “The police sat outside the home 24 hours a day.
“There was a lot of anger among people here because Paige was well-known and very popular.
“Some of the youngsters were quite open about smashing the windows of the flat as soon as the police moved out, so it would have been difficult for a young mother to return here.”
Following Paige's death hundreds of mourners donned pink clothing and carried heart-shaped balloons when they took part in a memorial walk to pay tribute to her.
