THE Prince and Princess of Wales could make a public statement ahead of Kate's return to public duties, one author says.
Conspiracy cranks and shameful gossips have peddled wild nonsense about Kate's whereabouts and condition since an abdominal operation on January 16.
William and Kate are said to be "shaken" by the unfair and cruel speculation, which has included the state of their marriage.
The couple are also dealing with an investigation into three staff members at the London Clinic after they allegedly accessed Kate's private medical records.
One royal author has written in the that the pair could make a statement in the coming weeks to preempt Kate's return to public duties.
Rebecca English said the prince will want to avoid the madness but: "There is much William would like to say.

"It has been tough for him to stand by and see his wife’s reputation shredded by the court of public opinion in the way his late mother’s once was.
"For now the prince and his team are not minded to publicly react to what they describe as ‘the madness’, and feel their actions should do the talking."
While Kate recovers, Prince William has continued with public duties visiting a homelessness project on Tuesday and soldiers on Wednesday.
English wrote that William, 41, is trying to protect his family from the intrusion into his mother's life that took such a toll on her.

But, the author said he has now learnt that he has no control over social media or media in the US.
It is these conspiracy-laden dark parts of the internet that will worry him most as trolls target his family.
Meanwhile Kate, 42, has been working from home as she eases herself back into normal life and duties following the op.
The princess is not set to return to the public eye until after Easter, but Kensington Palace has now said she has been working away at one of her beloved projects while at home.
Kate has hailed her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which is aimed at raising the profile of the early years development of children, as her "life's work".
SHOPPING TRIP
Despite footage revealed in The Sun clearly showing the Prince and Princess of Wales over the weekend some cranks believe the footage is fake.
The dad who filmed Kate shopping with William has told conspiracy theorist trolls: “What more do you need to lay off her?”
Nelson Silva, 40, saw Kate “with my own eyes” looking relaxed in Windsor.
But yesterday trolls were still pushing their bizarre claims — despite The Sun releasing Nelson’s exclusive video of her at Windsor Farm Shop on Saturday lunchtime.
Incredibly, some said it was a Kate lookalike. Others that it was too tall to be her.
Another crazy claim was that the footage was taken in December as there are “Christmas decorations” in the background.

In under 24 hours the body-double rumours racked up more than 12million views on X/Twitter, and more than 11million on TikTok.
Engineer Nelson blasted the conspiracy theorists as “delusional”.
Speaking from the home he shares with his wife and daughter in the town, he said: “I’m not so much shocked that these comments have continued, I’m just confused how exactly they can continue.
“This is a video clearly showing her and William. I saw them with my own eyes. It was a completely relaxed situation.
“What more do you need to lay off her? I thought after this was released they’d go quiet. But these people are so invested in the drama now.

“They’ve put so much time and energy into these rumours and lies that they can’t pull the plug.
"Even famous people are guilty. People with a large platform online — they can’t admit they are wrong now because they look so delusional.”
'Lay off Kate'
THE Sun last week led the way in defending Princess Kate when she was being criticised from all angles over the edited photo saga.
Social media trolls were quick to attack the future Queen over her editing of a Mother’s Day family picture.
Media critics also weighed in with their opinions alongside the idiotic conspiracy theorists, but The Sun stood alone in saying: Lay off Kate.
Our front page blasted: “The furious attacks on the future Queen over her photoshopping of a Mother’s Day family picture are not just absurd.
“They now look like a bullying campaign against a devoted mum, recovering from a serious operation, who simply wanted to offer the public a perfect portrait of her and her kids.
“She meant well, made a mistake and fessed up. Fair enough.
“Now leave her alone to get over her op.”
