Novak Djokovic tipped by Tim Henman to win more Grand Slams than any player, male or female
TIM HENMAN reckons Novak Djokovic will not stop until he has won more singles tennis titles than everybody in history – whether that is male or female.
The Serbian is chasing a record-equalling 22nd Slam when he faces Greek ace Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Australian Open final on Sunday evening here in Melbourne.
Should he prevail in the best-of-five-sets clash, then he will draw level with Rafa Nadal in the all-time list of male champions.
Even though he turns 36 in May, there is no suggestion that Djokovic is going to finish any time soon.
The Belgrade battler, who has struggled with a left hamstring issue, has the capacity to win several more titles in the coming years.
And according to Wimbledon hero Henman, there is the strong possibility he will one day overtake Margaret Court’s tally of 24 majors on the women’s side of the sport which has stood since 1973.
Henman, who has covered the tournament these past two weeks for , said: “I think Djokovic will win this final but I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes to four or five sets.
“He wants to go down as the tennis player with the most Grand Slams.
“And he probably wants to be the leader in both the men’s and women’s.
“To me, it’s a number games and Rafa Nadal has the most right now – so I’d say Rafa is the greatest male player of all time.

“Even though it is difficult to compare players from different generations.
“Having said that, I have long said Djokovic will end up with the most. This is another great opportunity for him.
“It is the perfect final. For me the best two players in the men’s draw meeting in the final.”
