The Open 2023 LIVE RESULTS: Brian Harman claims the Claret Jug at Hoylake as McIlroy and Rahm fall short – reaction

BRIAN HARMAN has won The Open after a stunning performance at Hoylake.

Jon Rahm, Tom Kim, Sepp Straka and Jason Day all finished joint second at -7, six shots off the American.

Rory McIlroy finished tied sixth at -6 as his long wait for a fifth major title continues.

    As the ball dropped into the cup, he confirmed that he too would have a share of second place in The Open.

    It left the Australian a lengthy putt for his par but he sunk it to huge applause.
