The event was originally pencilled in to take place today.

However, the rain which also blighted the Opening Ceremony has now claimed its first victim at the Paris Games.

World Skate put out a statement announcing the news.

It said: "Due to adverse overnight weather conditions and following a meeting this morning with all relevant organisers, the decision has been taken to postpone Men's Street Skateboarding at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games until Monday 29th of July."

The rescheduled event will see the preliminary rounds start at 11am BST.

The top eight competitors from the four heats will make it into the final.

The medal event will then happen at the later time of 4pm.

The women's event will be hoping to avoid a repeat, with their event due to start tomorrow.

Skateboarding at the Olympics also has a Park event.

The women's and men's events will begin on August 6 and 7 respectively.

Five Greatest Olympic Moments Ever

While Team GB has no medal interest in the Street event, it has two competitors in the women's Park event and one in the men's Park.

These come in the form of Sky Brown - who became Britain's youngest medallist in Tokyo three years ago - and Lola Tambling, both 16.

Andrew Macdonald is Team GB's sole medal hope in the men's Park event.
