HAFTHOR BJORNSSON has given fans a health update after dropping a 200kg weight on his back.

The former World's Strongest Man and Game of Thrones actor was involved in a horror accident during one of his gruelling workouts.

Bjornsson, 36, attempted an overhead press with a whopping 200kg barbell.

But things went horribly wrong as he dropped it down his back and stumbled off camera.

The Icelandic athlete posted the clip of the mishap on Instagram and captioned it with a famous quote: "I broke my back - Mike Tyson."

He then hilariously added: "No weights were injured in the making of this video."

There was plenty of concern from fans, which led to Bjornsson making another post on social media.

He shared an image of his back looking red and sore, writing: "I’m thankfully fine! Thanks for all the messages."

Bjornsson's incredible sporting career began when he was a basketball player in Iceland's top league.

He then began bodybuilding and he went on to be widely-regarded as one of the greatest strength athletes of all-time.

He is the only person to ever win the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe's Strongest Man and World's Strongest Man in the same year.

After stepping back from competing, he went into acting and starred as The Mountain in Game of Thrones for five seasons.

He has also had a go at boxing, famously beating fellow ex-Strongman Eddie Hall in a fight in 2022.
