Amorim has feeling that Fernandes 'wants to stay'
The Man United manager would go on to say more on Fernandes' potential departure;
Amorim on the Bruno situation: "Of course, I am the manager, I am the coach but sometimes it is the decision of the player.
"I talk with him, I explain things and I just have that feeling - when you talk with someone, you have the feeling if he wants to stay. Sometimes, in a lot of games this season he was so frustrated, but he knows what we are doing.
"So, the feeling that I have every time I speak with him is that he wants to continue for sure in Manchester United, but you never know."
Deadline looming for Fernandes
Sacha Tavolieri reports that Bruno Fernandes has until TOMORROW to accept or reject Al-Hilal's offer – they have given him everything he asked for.
The United captain played the first half of their post-season friednly against Hong Kong before being subbed with Ruben Amorim fronting a defiant stance in his thoughts on Fernandes.
"I think he wants to stay. He is saying no to a lot of things. The club can find other ways to make money. The feeling I get is that he wants to continue for sure with Man United, you never know," Amorim said in his post-match press conference.
Frank expects high fee for Mbeumo interest
Clubs hoping to capture Bryan Mbeumo have been cautioned by Brentford manager Thomas Frank that a summer transfer will not be simple.
Mbeumo, who scored 20 Premier League goals from the flank and provided seven assists during his incredible season with the Bees, is anticipated to attract transfer interest this summer.
“It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount,” Frank said of Mbeumo to Viaplay. “It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot.
“Then it is clear that it is impossible to replace him one for one. It cannot be done. There is a reason why he costs x number of million pounds, and we do not have x number of million pounds to buy for.
“I would say that I would be surprised if a lot of big clubs don’t look at him. I would be surprised with what he has to offer.
“How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player.”
Al-Nassr target Garnacho
More from Jacobs...
Alejandro Garnacho is on Al-Nassr's transfer list if they fail to secure Luis Diaz this summer.
Garnacho was reportedly told to find a new club by Ruben Amorim after the conclusion of their competitive season.
Though the Argentine featured on the mini-tour in Asia, the expectation still remains of a departure.
Estupinan enquiry
After their whistle-stop tour in Asia, the Man United chiefs and Ruben Amorim will now turn their attention to the rebuild of the playing squad.
Patrick Dorgu was of the first players acquired under Amorim but still remains in a development stage, with Ben Jacobs citing the Danish 20-year-old could be set to welcome in some competition .
"Pervis Estupinan is a name United have enquired about for the left wing back role," the journalist stated on the United Stand YouTube channel.
Strikers Man Utd are eyeing
Here's which strikers Manchester United are targeting ahead of manager Ruben Amorim's imminent squad overhaul:
- Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon)
- Liam Delap (Ipswich Town)
- Victor Osimhen (Napoli)
- Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt)
- Moise Kean (Fiorentina)
Maguire confirms firesale
Manchester United ace Harry Maguire admits he expects a lot of players to leave Old Trafford this summer.
We will make a lot of changes in the summer at the club.
There will be a lot of players who leave and hopefully a lot of players will come in.
And that’s down to the club to make sure they get that right and it’s down to us players to make sure that we are the ones that are involved.
Harry MaguireWhat's next for Man Utd?
The season is mercifully over for Manchester United...
Now United players and fans can spend the next month regrouping ahead of what they hope will be a completely different campaign.
A major squad revamp is expected to take place under manager Ruben Amorim with the Man Utd hierarchy's blessings.
The Red Devils' first pre-season friendly takes place on July 19 against Leeds before their second game with West Ham on July 27.
FULL-TIME: Hong Kong 1-3 Man Utd
And that's it. Manchester United's season is, at long last, all over.
The United faithful can finally bury this dismal season in the dirt.
Perhaps the only positive from this tour was the promise shown by the Red Devils' youngsters.
Chido Obi's brace led the way before Ayden Heaven capped off a strong display in defence by adding a goal of his own late on.
Hong Kong 1-3 Man Utd
Manchester United have turned the game on its head.
Chido Obi turned the game on its head by completing a brace on 82 minutes following a cross from Mason Mount.
And Ayden Heaven sealed the win during stoppage time thanks to an assist by Amad Diallo.
Hong Kong 1-1 Man Utd
Manchester United have equalised with Chido Obi, who came off the bench.
Manuel Ugarte managed to poke the ball to Obi in the penalty area, before he took two touches to his right and lashed a shot into the back of the net on his weak foot on 50 minutes.
HT: Hong Kong 1-0 Man Utd
Manchester United are struggling in their second pre-season friendly amid their tour of Asia.
The hosts took the lead after just 19 minutes following an absolute clanger from goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
Juninho was played in behind the Man Utd defence before he was forced wide and took a shot from a tight angle.
However, the low shot somehow managed to go through Heaton in goal and gift the lead to the hosts.
Matheus Cunha latest
Matheus Cunha is still waiting to undergo his medical with Manchester United.
According to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, "all is on track" regarding Cunha's move.
The forward's contract may not start until July 1 to allow United to place the first instalment on the next financial year.
The Brazil international is waiting on a visa before undergoing his medical at Old Trafford.
More on Delap
Chelsea are closing in on Ipswich Town star Liam Delap in a major blow for Manchester United.
SunSport revealed exclusively on May 14 that the Blues were growing increasingly confident they could beat United to the £30million forward.
A deal could be announced as early as next week as Chelsea look to build on a strong finish to the season.
They won the Conference League on Wednesday just three days after securing a top four Premier League slot and qualifying for next season's Champions League.
Delap, 22, scored 12 goals despite getting relegated with Town.
He has a £30m release clause in his contract and is keen to join boss Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United were interested but their lack of European football next season works against them.
Cristiano Ronaldo latest
Al-Nassr are confident they can keep Cristiano Ronaldo just days after the Manchester United legend indicated he would leave the club.
Ronaldo declared earlier this week his “chapter is over” in Saudi Arabia.
Speculation had already begun on the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s next destination with him seemingly in no mood to retire.
But Al-Nassr sporting director Fernando Hierro believes he can change the 40-year-old’s mind and get him to pen a new deal.
I have to be positive. I don’t think Ronaldo will leave Al-Nassr. In any case, we are working hard on all aspects.
Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr runs until the end of June 30.
We will work to renew his contract so he can continue with us, and there are many clubs interested in signing him.
He is a huge phenomenon in the history of football and has helped the league grow.
We are in contact to renew his contract and hope he continues with us.

'Hojlund for Osimhen swap'
A Manchester United chief reportedly flew to Naples earlier this week to discuss a potential swap deal including Rasmus Hojlund.
According to , Hojlund could be used as part as a swap deal for Napoli star Victor Osimhen.
Man Utd transfer chief Matt Hargreaves allegedly flew to Italy recently to speak to the Partenopei's executives about a potential move.
The Italian champions are understood to be keen on the prospect of signing the United flop.
And they would be willing to part ways with Osimhen, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Galatasaray.
Fernandes ‘seriously considering’ Al-Hilal
Bruno Fernandes is entertaining a shock move to Saudi Arabia, it's been claimed.
Manchester United's skipper is currently being eyed by Al-Hilal, who are looking to make a marquee signing this summer following Neymar's departure.
The Saudi Pro League side are understood to be willing to pay a whopping £100million to secure the services of Fernandes, who would take home a pretty penny if he were to move to The Kingdom.
And the 30-year-old is said to be "giving serious consideration" to the move.
That's according to The Athletic, who claims talks for the Portugal international to join Al-Hilal are already underway.
Should Fernandes accept the lucrative offer on the table, his last game as a Red Devil could take place TODAY.
United play Hong Kong in a friendly this afternoon as part of their end-of-season tour of Asia.
Chelsea ‘to pay Delap release clause’
Manchester United may have been dealt a massive transfer blow ahead of the summer market.
That is because Ipswich Town star Liam Delap could soon be confirmed as Chelsea’s first major summer signing.
Delap has been linked to a string of major clubs, including United.
But the Blues have reportedly agreed to pay the striker’s release clause.
And it’s understood the England Under-21 international now just needs to agree personal terms.

Mainoo disunited?
Ruben Amorim might need to sell before he can revamp his Manchester United squad with newcomers.
And it’s claimed midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, 20, is one of the vulnerable Red Devils.
Football Insider reckon the Old Trafford academy product could be sold if an offer of around £70million came in.
Mainoo already has 10 England caps.
But it’s suggested his style doesn’t suit manager Amorim’s system.
Bruno link to Al-Hilal steps up
Bruno Fernandes' agent has held "productive" talks with Al-Hilal, according to reports.
The Saudi side are pushing hard to sign the Manchester United captain in the coming days.
Credit: Reuters Fernandes, 30, has been on the Red Devils' post-season tour in Malaysia.
According to transfer expert , his agent Miguel Pinho, meanwhile, jetted to Saudi Arabia to meet with Al-Hilal chiefs.
Club president Fahad bin Nafel is said to have engaged in positive talks with Pinho at the Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh.
Al-Hilal are set to participate in the expanded Club World Cup next month and want to recruit a new superstar in time to feature.
It was previously reported that last year's Saudi champions wanted an answer from Fernandes' camp within 72 hours.
The Portuguese midfielder is yet to give a concrete answer.
United's stance is said to be that they'd like to keep their skipper. His future could be settled later this week.
Angel returns home
Angel Di Maria is returning to his first club.
The ex-Manchester United winger, 37, is out of contract with Benfica next month.
And the Argentinian has already tied up a move to home-country team Rosario Central.
The winger failed to win any honours during a mediocre one-season stay at Old Trafford in 2014-15.
But he'd won LaLiga and the Champions League before that with Real Madrid.
And after leaving United he picked up five Ligue 1 titles in seven seasons at Paris Saint-Germain.
Di Maris was heavily tipped to go back to Argentina this summer - with Rosario duly pouncing.
Sesko finally tipped for Prem move
Arsenal are negotiating to sign top Prem target Benjamin Sesko.
So says transfer guru Fabrizio Romano as the Gunners prioritise recruiting a world class striker this summer.
Romano reckons the Gunners have held “concrete talks” with RB Leipzig over the 21-year-old Slovenian.
Credit: Shutterstock Editorial Sesko’s 21-goal haul this season is under that of rival targets Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.
But the 6ft 5ins star Sesko has time on his side.
Red Devils caught Napping with Scott sale
COMMENT: It is questionable why any Scotsman would venture outside in 27 degrees of searing Italian sunshine, writes ANDY DILLON.
Proceeding to slug neat whisky from a bottle while sitting atop a roofless bus the day before meeting the Pope represents a whole new level of judgement.
Scott McTominay’s hands were probably shaking with more than nerves as he stood to meet Leo XIV while nursing a biblical hangover.
But as a young man with the world at his feet and a Serie A winner’s medal round his neck, Scottish football’s new Messiah can do whatever he likes. And besides, daft decisions have been following him around for some time.
Not least the one by his former club Manchester United, who thought it great business to flog him to Napoli for £25million last summer, having rejected a bid of £30m from West Ham because it was not enough.
Despite being 6ft 3in, McTominay could never look Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Paul Ince or Bryan Robson in the eye.
But he has scored more goals this term than Rasmus Hojlund — United’s £72m striker. He also scored on the final day for Napoli, who won the Scudetto by a solitary point.
McTominay’s sale was dressed up as a financial necessity but the £42m splashed out on replacement Manuel Ugarte doesn’t look like the best trade off.

Blues edge closer to permanent Jadon deal
Chelsea have asked Jadon Sancho to agree to a new contract before completing a £25million transfer, according to reports.
The England international, 25, spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Stamford Bridge from Old Trafford.
Chelsea have a £25m obligation to buy Sancho in the summer transfer window.
However, they do have a £5m penalty clause to break out of the deal and escape the obligation.
Now are reporting that the Blues are in negotiations with the winger’s representatives over his future.
Chelsea most likely want Sancho to stay in West London. However, Sky claim they will only sign him if he agrees to fit into the wage structure at the club.
Sancho earns a whopping £350,000 per week at United, where he has one year left on his current deal.
But part of the Todd Boehly regime is signing players on relatively low wages. Star-man Cole Palmer is on £130,000 per week.
