PSG vs Aston Villa LIVE RESULT: Villans left with it all to do in Champions League quarter-final after Mendes’ late goal

PSG have beaten Aston Villa 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Morgan Rogers finished off a stunning Villa counter-attack to open the scoring on 35 minutes.
But Unai Emery's men didn't have the lead for long after 19-year-old Desire Doue levelled the tie with a WONDER STRIKE moments later.
Minutes into the second half, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia flew past Axel Disasi and smashed PSG into a 2-1 lead.
Nuno Mendes' stunning solo goal shattered Villa hearts late on as the Portuguese left-back made the quarter-final 3-1.
The two sides meet at Villa Park next Tuesday, with Emery's men needing a huge turnaround to stay in the Champions League.

Youngster has Desire to be the best
Desire Doue introduced himself to the world stage even more in Paris against Aston Villa.
His pace is electric but his quick-feet and trickery makes him a nightmare for anyone to face.
Scoring a sublime goal to equalise in the first-leg, he is one of many stars that Aston Villa have the tough challenge to try and keep quiet if they are to stand any chance of progressing.

On-loan PSG attacker Marco Asensio will no doubt have been disappointed to be on the bench in Paris.
He will be hoping he is a starter for the second-leg so he can show his employer what he has to offer.
Nobody will be pumped up more to make an impression, something Unai Emery may need to consider before his team selection for the second-leg.
Prince pumped for massive clash
It seems so weird to see part of the monarchy in the crowd supporting his team with the passion of the regular fans.
However, Prince William was in Paris cheering his side on against PSG this evening.
No doubt he will be at Villa Park hoping he can see his side do the unthinkable against the tournament favourites.

Fans needed more than ever
Villa Park has been a tricky place to go in this season's competition for most teams.
Unai Emery will no doubt call upon the fans to give them the edge as they welcome a dangerous PSG.
Home advantage make such a difference in Europe, if Aston Villa can grab an early goal, it will make for an enthralling enncounter.
Villans with perfect fixture ahead
The return leg will no doubt factor in the side Unai Emery puts out in the Premier League on the weekend.
However, currently out of the Champions League qualifying spots, Villa cannot afford to let their domestic performances drop.
Facing already relegated Southampton at St Mary's will seem the ideal fixture for the Spaniard to rotate his squad while still grabbing all three points this weekend.
Spaniard reviews French performance
Speaking with BT Sport, the PSG manager gave his views:
Well have to say, we expected in the right way, trying to control the game. We conceded that goal against the run of play and it affected our confidence. I think we deserved our win and we have to think about the second-leg and it is going to be difficult for sure. We have to believe in ourselves, we are happy with that result and are going to try and play the same way there. They are all quality players with lots of ambition in Paris and today it is a very nice day for us.
Luis EnriqueBig test ahead for Villans
Two goals down from the first-leg, many Aston Villa fans will still fancy their chances in this tie.
However, as we saw at Anfield, PSG will not change the way played this evening at Villa Park.
The biggest problem for Unai Emery's side will be scoring two goals without a reply from the French outfit.
Parisians showing flare when it counts
On current form, it is hard to see many sides who could cope with the attacking flair of PSG.
While there are plenty of good sides remaining, Luis Enrique's side seemed to have levelled-up since the league phase.
They proved to be too much for Liverpool and nobody would fancy facing them in the tournament now.
Scorer has say on performance
Speaking with BT Sports after the match, Rogers gave his thoughts on this tie and going to Villa Park:
Yeh, it was difficult. They have a really good team with stars all over the pitch. Maybe we could have done better at the goals they scored but we still have a chance going back to Villa Park. We didn’t want to come here and just be spectators, we wanted to compete and I think we did that. We’ve got quality in our dressing room and we are here for a reason. We have nothing to lose, why not just go for it, it’s not done yet.
Morgan Rogers
Tough introduction for Chelsea man
Plying his trade as a centre-back, it was a baptism of fire for Axel Disasi.
You felt the majority of the danger from PSG came down his flank in the second-half.
It was always going to be difficult for him but the Frenchman will be disappointed he could not have done more to get his side a more positive result.
Former PSG coach has his say
Coming back to the club where it did not work out for him, the Aston Villa manager gave his thoughts to BT Sport:
More or less, the expectation I had before the match happened. The result, it is not different between 2-1 or 3-1. It will be a huge challenge for us but with our support at Villa Park we are confident. We had three shots when 2-1 down, to be close in the result was good. We have to win at home, we know that. We believe in the players that we can get the result next week.
Unai EmeryFrom zeros to heros for Enrique
During the league phase, this looked a poor PSG side.
Especially when they travelled to North London, where they failed to land a glove on Mikel Arteta's side.
Something has drastically changed in Paris, it is quite baffling as to how the manager has transformed them.
Either way, they look a completely different proposition now.
Villa shows they are not out of depth
Being their first Champions League campaign, Unai Emery's side have showed they are more than capable of mixing it up with the best.
It was a tough night in Paris, but despite being under the cosh for the first half hour, they took an unexpected lead.
Tielemans did brilliantly to pick out Rogers to provide him with an easy tap-in to silence the crowd.

Villa were on the brink of returning from France with a single goal defeat against a top class PSG side when disaster struck - two minutes into stoppage time!
PSG's LEFT-BACK Nuno Mendes showed the finishing finesse of a top class striker to grab a sensational third and potentially killer strike.
Just like the last round against Liverpool, the French champs outplayed their English opponents for 90-plus minutes in the Parc des Princes.
And just like against Liverpool, Luis Enrique's side fell behind to a sucker-punch goal when Morgan Rogers gave Villa a dramatic lead.
But this time PSG roared back to score with wonder strikes from teen sensation Desire Doue and Georgian genius Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to turn the tables on Villa.
And Mendes rubbed salt in Villa's wounds with that dramatic last-gasp goal which floored Unai Emery's battlers.
At 2-1 Villa had every chance of doing the business in the home leg in front of a frenzied Villa Park.
Now it looks like they have to climb an obstacle as big as Paris's famous Eiffel Tower to make the semi-finals.
Georgian constant threat in Paris
Both of the PSG wide men impressed this evening but the relentless running of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the one to watch.
Scoring a superb strike whilst being a constant thorn in the side of Aston Villa at the Parc des Princes.
He also gets back to help his side out in defence and covered so much of the pitch over the course of the game.
