Thanks for tuning in - we'll be back again for coverage of England vs Senegal on Tuesday!
‘Not good enough in terms of urgency’ – Tuchel
England manager Thomas Tuchel speaking to ITV last night: “I am not happy with the performance I think we started well in the first 20 or 25 minutes.
“We created a lot of chances and half chances, and we lost completely the momentum and couldn’t get it back in the first half. Got a little bit in the second half but then ended up in a place that was not good enough in terms of urgency.
“We can just admit it that it’s not what we expect from us. We need to look at it in detail and do better on Tuesday.”
Did Madueke stand out?: “He was over the course of the match, the most dangerous. I could feel his hunger to do what was the plan throughout the whole of the match.
“The message got across because we had a good 25 minutes but then the energy and the determination weren’t there anymore. Then it looks like it does.
“I was most worried in the last 20 minutes because I did not like the attitude that we ended the game with.
“I didn’t like the lack of urgency and it did not match the occasion. It is still a World Cup qualifier. We will let them know tomorrow what we want from them.”

Morning!
In case you missed England's drab performance in Barcelona, here's the report on the 1-0 win below:
'Felt like a cup game'
England manager Thomas Tuchel in his post-match press conference: "Matches like this can become awkward when you don't score, or score a second goal. Then it's even more necessary to not let your energy drop, to do the little things right.
"I had the feeling after 25 minutes we became a bit frustrated, then everyone tries something a bit different and it becomes a bit free-styling and looks even more slow.
"Then there are no movements in the last third, everyone wants the ball into feet and there's no more runs.
"You need runs, constant movement and if you don't invest, it becomes a stuck game. We became frustrated and in the end we played with fire.
"I felt it, almost like in a cup game where the favourite does not smell the danger. I didn't feel a team that was aware it was only 1-0 up in a World Cup qualifier.
"I'm not blaming them, I just feel they were stuck and step-by-step the energy dropped. We needed the opposite, but we could not deliver that. We got away with a win, we deserved it.
"We won't stop to encourage them, we will make clear what we want from them."
'We'll learn from xG underperformance'
England manager Thomas Tuchel in his post-match press conference: "Maybe [it was the June international break]. The window is the window, no excuses.
"We said many times, the clubs don't like the window and even for the national team it's not an easy window. They come from holiday and a long season.
"Still, we can and have to do better over 90 minutes. We played 25 minutes where we created chances and it seemed like a matter of time until we scored.
"But we lost the momentum completely, started okay in the first 15 of the second half and then lost it again. We created an xG of three and underperformed with one goal, which is unusual in a match like this where you normally overperform an xG.
"Normally if you create three your score five, by individual quality and finishing. But it was a lack of quality in the end of both halves. It's honest to admit it and not talk around it.
"We expect more, we can deliver more and we'll try to take it as a learning."
'Booing didn't damper unbelievable atmosphere'
England manager Thomas Tuchel in his post-match press conference: "The booing is okay, the support was amazing - it created an unbelievable atmosphere for a match like this.
"When I came out, straight away it was exciting and they made it a very special atmosphere.
"They were underwhelmed and not happy with our performance, especially in the first half. We can't blame them for that.
"We can't blame them how we ended the match, I thought they were fantastic.
"I didn't hear anything abusive [about the Prime Minister], of course it's not acceptable if it happened but I didn't hear it."
'Struggle to create' - Tuchel
More from Tuchel...
England manager Thomas Tuchel in his post-match press conference: "It's the third time we've played against a deep block, a 5-4-1.
"We struggled heavily at the end of both halves to create, to show the quality in one-on-ones and create overloads and decisive situations.
"That includes Jude [Bellingham], as any other player."
Jones shines in unorthodoxy
Midfielder Curtis Jones was tasked with operating in an alternative position for his fourth ever England game.
The Liverpudlian technician started at right-back ahead of his former teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James - who played left-back.
He completed 97% of his passes (74/76) for England in their win against Andorra. Aswell as;
- 2/3 tackles won
- Third joint-most chances created (2)
- 5/7 duels won
- 4 recoveries
Tuchel on Ange
Though Tuchel is finding his new managerial gig in relatively good nick, his Aussie counterpart failed to endure himself in London, unlike the Champions League-winning Three Lions manager - and was handed his P45 on Friday.
Here's what Tuchel thought about the situation:
Did the tents working?
The discourse ahead of the game was all about the tents.
Despite the lacklustre nature in England's play, they didn't look as gassed as you would expect given the football most have had to endure.
In order to simulate the circumstances they could encounter in the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico next year, England have been training in heated tents during their trip in Spain.
The head coach of England and the Football Association's performance department will examine how players handle the intense heat and humidity they may encounter during the World Cup as part of the training camp.
Players will test their fitness on exercise bikes inside the tents in conditions similar to those they would experience during the competition, and their recuperation will be evaluated.
Speaking last week, Tuchel stated that he will visit the Club World Cup in the United States this summer to evaluate the circumstances and that he anticipates his players to "suffer" in the competition.
In the Barcelona conditions, England played passively but with the knowledge that they weren't pushed to their limits.
Andorra's recent record vs top-10 nations...
Andorra have lost by at least four goals in each of their four games against a top-10-ranked team since 2020 - until today.
Only one of them took place at home, and it was against England, led by Gareth Southgate, who defeated them by five goals in October 2021.
- Portugal 7-0 Andorra
- England 4-0 Andorra
- Andorra 0-5 England
- Spain 5-0 Andorra
Group K
Here's how England look in their group:
- England - 3 games, 9 points
- Albania – 2 games, 3 points
- Latvia - 2 games, 3 points
- Serbia - 0 games, 0 points (0)
- Andorra - 3 games, 0 points (-5)

If you do want to relive the details from today's game or were one of the lucky ones to miss out, Dan King's report goes through the lacklustre win.
'Madueke was a constant threat' - Kane
England captain Harry Kane speaking to ITV: "It’s one of those. We can play better, it wasn’t our greatest performance, but we can learn from it. It’s very hot here, dry pitch, probably similar conditions to next year at the World Cup.
"We had good spells but we couldn’t consistently have attack after attack. We take the three points and move on.
"We probably weren’t good enough on the ball – we kept giving it away, which gave them confidence and energy. It is what it is.
"He [Noni Madueke] was a constant threat today and he got the assist as well. We need more of that – we’ve got amazing players and you need one v one quality in these games.
"The June camp is never easy after a long season, but we got what we needed."
'Players looked like they were bored' - Keane
Roy Keane speaking on ITV: "When I see players getting bored, which I saw in the last half an hour, I don't like to see that.
"Go and get some more goals. They have to impress the manager, he's still new to the job.
"You can't keep looking to Kane, the other attacking players have to have an impact."
Kane's landmark
To keep of the statistical vibe...
One for the matchwinner.
Stat attack!
In the World Cup Qualifiers, England has scored 60 goals in their last 20 games, including goals in each of their previous 20 games.
Additionally, they have gone 551 minutes without giving up a goal, although it speaks more about the kind of opposition they have seen than it does about their defensive prowess.

- Fouls – Andorra 13-9 England

The hosts got one chance but failed to make anything of it.
Burn clears after winning the header. The counterattack is spearheaded by Gibbs-White, and England get a last-minute second.
Instead of extending England's advantage with essentially the final kick, Madueke sidefoots it at the custodian after it beats Gordon.
Thomas Tuchel becomes the first manager of England to win all three of his games in charge without giving up a goal - and the three points.
But the performance was less inspiring against the world’s 173rd best team.
Andorra 0-1 England
90 - For a few minutes now, Morgan Gibbs-White has been waiting to come on from the touchline.
He now enters to add to his two England caps as Bellingham makes way.
Three minutes have been added on.
Andorra 0-1 England

For England, Gibbs-White is coming on. It had been fifteen minutes since their last shot on target.
Andorra 0-1 England

Substitution as Morgan Rogers and Curtis Jones are replaced by Declan Rice and Anthony Gordon in the process.
