Speaking about his desire to stay in England, Toure said: “Yes, because of my family. My kids, for me, are British.
“They go to school here, they have a lot of friends in Manchester. Manchester is their town.
“I would never celebrate a goal against City. I don't want to face them, but if I want to stay in the Premier League, I'll have to.”
Pep Guardiola said yesterday that he felt Toure had the quality to continue playing in the Premier League, despite not starting the veteran in a single top-flight match this season.
"Yeah, he can," said the Man City manager.
"Hopefully he can stay in football and come back maybe here one day.
"He likes the game and he enjoys the training sessions, especially with the ball.
"My advice, if he still has desire to play, he has to continue. If you have doubt, you have to retire, it is over."
