PlayStation and Xbox owners warned of major change to Call of Duty coming TONIGHT – and fans are devastated

ACTIVISION is pulling the plug on one of its free-to-play games tonight.
Fans of the popular franchise have been sharing their sadness at seeing the title go.
The original Call of Duty: Warzone - which was renamed Warzone Caldera - is shutting down for good so that Activision can "focus on future Call of Duty content".
So all gameplay, player progression, inventories and online services will disappear.
Sadly they can't be transferred either.
But any items you've bought in Caldera from Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard will still be available in those games.

The gaming giant announced Caldera was for the chop in June.
At the time, the company said: "We all have had incredible Warzone experiences across the Call of Duty franchise since its first launch, including those in Warzone Caldera.
"For those players who haven’t jumped over to the current Warzone activities, expect a vast amount of gameplay choices across three Battle Royale maps (including Season 04’s new map Vondel), as well as Ranked Play, the DMZ Beta featuring five different Extraction Zones, BlackCell offerings, and more."
Gamers have been feeling nostalgic about Caldera on social media.

Many have been squeezing in a final match before it's too late.
"Last week of Warzone 1, despite our feelings toward Caldera and the design choices made throughout its life span I am going to miss it," one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"I am actually devastated by the shut down of Warzone 1," another said.
"That game was the last time I genuinely had fun with Call of Duty."
