Sky to replace free TV channel in major shake-up – and it’s great for millions of Freeview owners
SKY is planning to replace one of its free-to-air channels on Freeview.
The Pick channel - which Sky owns - is set to disappear after 12 years on screens.
But a brand new Sky-branded channel filled with some premium shows will take Pick's place.
The channel numbers are also being shuffled around as a result.
Sky Arts will move down to Freeview number 36, while Sky Mix will take its current slot at number 11.
Pick's line-up include shows such as Merlin, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Border Patrol and Ghost Whisperer.

Effectively rebranding to Sky Mix, the new channel will offer a taste of some Sky Original content, as well as some shows previously aired on Sky Atlantic and Sky Witness.
The first series of HBO's True Detective is among them, ahead of a fourth series coming out early next year.
Pick is also available on Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media, where it will also be replaced with Sky Mix.
It first started out as Sky Three way back in 2005.

The channel is also expected to be available in HD.
But it will remain in SD (standard definition) on Freeview.
The new channel will launch on October 18 at 11am.
Sky has done a similar thing before with Sky Sports Mix.
The channel is showcases some sport content for free - though it's only available on Sky.
