Samsung TV owners receive free upgrade with three ‘no cost’ channels from major brand – there’s a big treat for parents

SAMSUNG has added three free channels for millions of TV owners.
The company's free streaming service Samsung TV Plus has just received a major upgrade.
Toy giant Mattel has partnered with Samsung to add some kid-friendly channels to TV Plus.
Samsung TV Plus comes installed on the company's televisions as standard – as well as on its smartphones.
Currently the service offers more than 350 live channels that are totally free to watch, but feature commercials.
And now you'll be able to enjoy Barbie and Friends, How Wheels Action, and Mattel Jr.
"We always aim to engage our fans in new ways with their favorite Mattel characters and storylines," said Mattel TV chief Michelle Mendelovitz.
"We are pleased to partner with Samsung TV Plus to advance Mattel’s content strategy and provide audiences with a premium viewing experience."
It's a perfect selection for parents who can give their kids plenty of new shows to watch without paying a penny.
Here's how Samsung describes the new channels:
All of the channels are supported by ads, so you don't need to pay any upfront fees or subscription costs.
The new channels are live from today.
Of course, you're a little stuck if you don't own a Samsung TV.
However, there are plenty of other apps that serve up free live channels, television shows, and movies across other devices.
Here's a list of apps that all offer at least some free TV content:
Many of these apps work across Amazon Fire TV Sticks, , Android, PS5 and Xbox consoles, and sometimes in web browsers too.
They're a great alternative to premium streaming services that charge monthly subscriptions.
Here's the lowdown...
The Roku Channel is a streaming app that's available on a range of devices.
It offers more than 400 live TV channels.
And it promises over 80,000 movies and TV shows on an on-demand basis.
Roku says that the app is available on:
Roku notes that the app is only available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It's also available in Mexico, but only on Roku devices.
So if you're looking to trim your TV bills, these apps are a great place to start.
