Virgin Media customers receive free upgrade with two premium TV channels now available on boxes

VIRGIN Media customers are being treated to two premium channels on their boxes this month.

The move is sure to delight sports fans - just after issues with another major channel operator were resolved.

A deal between Virgin Media and TNT Sports over broadcasting fees was agreed last week.

Separately, the firm recently sent emails to customers telling them TNT Sports would be removed from their packages if they hadn't watched it in the past six months.

But now customers can watch rival Premier Sports at no extra cost.

Both Premier Sports 1 HD and Premier Sports 2 HD are free for all of August.

You can find them on channels 551 and 552 respectively.

Premier Sports recently resurfaced in the UK after its previous incarnation Viaplay Sports disappeared from screens.

For those unaware, Premier Sports is home to several competitions, including Spanish and Scottish football games, as well as rugby.

There will be two La Liga matches available to watch for free in August.

Valencia takes on Barcelona on August 17, and then on August 18, you can see Real Mallorca v Real Madrid.

Both will appear on Premier Sports 1 HD.

As for the Scottish Premiership coverage on Premier Sports 1 HD, there's live action on August 10 with Dundee v Heart Of Midlothian.

Then on August 31, you can watch Ross County v Aberdeen.

There are Premier Sports Cup matches too.

Rangers v St Johnstone airs on Premier Sports 1 HD at 5.45pm, August 17.

And Celtic v Hibernian is shown at 3pm on August 18.

Viewers can also catch MMA fights from the leading European promotion KSW.
