SAMSUNG owners have revealed a simple settings tweak makes their phones feel much faster.
The simple trick takes just a few seconds – but might bring you a lifetime of smartphone joy.

It involves changing how your Samsung Galaxy phone handles its animations.
The trick was revealed in a Reddit thread where Samsung fans were asked which settings they "always enable / disable" when getting a new phone.
Samsung owners responded with a huge list of settings to tweak.
But one of the most popular changes was enabling Developer Settings, and then disabling animations.
One user whose post earned dozens of "upvotes" said that the change made their "phone much faster".
HOW TO SPEED UP SAMSUNG PHONE WITH ANIMATION TRICK
It's a simple change, but you'll need to activate Developer Settings first.
This is a hidden menu that you need to unlock using a special sequence of taps.
Samsung explains: "The Developer options menu lets you configure system behaviors to improve app performance.

To enable it, go to Settings > About Device (or About Phone) > Software Information.

Then tap on the Build Number seven times in a row.
You'll then be asked to enter your PIN, password, or unlock pattern to enable the Developer Settings.
This only needs to happen once, and then it's unlocked for good.
Just make sure you have the Developer options switch toggled to the on position.

Once you're done, you can change the speed of your phone's animations.
There are three you want to look at: Window, Transition, and Animator scales.
They're set to "1x" by default, by try changing them to "0.5x" for a quick boost.
It's also possible to turn animations off entirely.

You're not actually making the phone run faster at a processor level.
But it will make the phone feel snappier as though it really is working more quickly.
That's because the animations for navigating your phone finish more quickly (or don't even start, if you've got them turned off).
You might not like how this looks however, so try it to see how it feels.

FAN-FAVORITE SAMSUNG SETTINGS
Animation speed wasn't the only setting that Samsung fans admitted favoring.
Here are some other popular settings tweaks that came up:
One user admitted to turning Adaptive Brightness off, which means the phone won't automatically choose how bright or dark the screen gets.
Another said they turned keyboard sounds off for a more peaceful phone experience.

To get the most out of your smartphone's battery, you'll need to charge it properly.
Most Smartphones have a lithium-ion battery that lives longer when charged regularly.
Unlike the nickel batteries used in older phones, lithium-ion batteries do best when kept above a 50 percent charge.
Repeatedly allowing the battery to drain fully may shorten its life and decrease its overall capacity.
If this happens, you'll need to charge the battery more frequently and it may last only a few hours before needing a charge, for example.
Leaving the phone connected to the charger (when the phone is completely charged) while you are using it may lower battery life if you do it repeatedly.
And one user said they changed the setting for capping charge at 80%.
