USERS of popular email marketing service Mailchimp have been hit by a mysterious outage.

The issues struck just as workers logged on for a new week, leaving them with a strange "502 Bad Gateway" error message.

Mailchimp is a favourite for companies creating mailing lists and more for marketing to customers.

The company claims to have more than 11million users worldwide, including the UK and US.

It's not clear whether the outage is widespread or limited at the moment.

The Down Detector website picked up on more than 500 reports in the UK alone.

There is a much smaller spike in the US, though this may be down to the fact that it's still the early hours across the Atlantic.

Users have been messaging Mailchimp on X but the company is yet to respond.

And there are no reported issues on its service status site.

The Sun tested the site and found the login page does show a "502 Bad Gateway" error message.

"What’s going on with Mailchimp?" one user wrote.

"Why am I getting a “502 Bad Gateway” error when I click the login button???"

Are you owed cash from an outage?

Another commented: "@Mailchimp is your website down? Each time I try log in it says 502 bad gateway?"

A third added: "Mailchimp is having the Mondayest of Mondays lol"
