Is Pontins closing? Full list of resorts shutting for good

PONTINS has announced that the holiday resort is set to close multiple of its branches.
The Southport, Prestatyn, Denbighshire and Camber Sands in East Sussex site are shutting immediately, with all future bookings being cancelled.
Pontins Southport released a statement saying: "
The website states: "It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Pontins Southport Holiday Park.
"After assessing the future viability of the park, we have come to the difficult decision to close our doors.
"Unfortunately, this means that Pontins Southport Holiday Park will be closing from Wednesday 3rd January 2024.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
When announcing that the Prestatyn and Camber Sands sites were closing, Pontins released a statement.
The company said: “We regret to inform you that our parks in Prestatyn and Camber Sands will be closing with immediate effect.
"Customers whose bookings will be affected by these closures will be contacted by our team and refunded.

The closures left people's festive holiday plans up in the air, with some early 2024 bookings also cancelled now.
Rave Kidz was due to hold a weekend event for families at the Southport site in February and said it had been emailed by Pontins confirming the closure.
They said they were working to reschedule at another venue and would inform ticketholders as soon as they can.
Record label Tidy Trax had been planning to hold a "wet and wild weekender" at the Prestatyn site around Christmas and said at the time it was "shocked and concerned" adding that the update had come as a big surprise.
In a post on social media, they said that their team was "actively working to engage with Pontins to gather more information and clarity on the situation".
Some parents said they were upset by the news, with one saying their kids "loved it" at the resort.
Another added: "This is sad.. got some good memories here with the kiddies."
However, others weren't quite as surprised by the news, with one commenting on the park's announcement on Facebook: "I had a feeling this was going to happen. Sad times."
Although popular with some families and holidaymakers, it was ranked top of a list of the worst British holiday park chains by consumer group Which? in a survey of 19 different companies.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Pontins resort in Brean Sands resort in Somerset will be closed for three years to undergo a major refurbishment.
This will see upgrades to its 600 chalets and to its Wifi system.
The site will be used as accommodation by workers at the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant in the meantime, as construction continues on a new nuclear power plant, due to open by 2027.
