First look at Coronation Street star Stirling Gallacher’s Casualty debut as Jan’s police officer wife Ffion

CORONATION Street star Stirling Gallacher is set to make her Casualty debut this week.
She will starring as Jan Jenning's wife and policewoman Ffion, and will show us a whole new side to the feisty paramedic.
Stirling, who played lawyer Paula Martin on the Cobbles, will make her Casualty debut on the day of her and Jan's wedding anniversary, but the celebrations soon descend into chaos.
Jan feels guilty after receiving an anniversary gift from Ffion and does her best to give her something in return.
However, she lies about booking a fancy restaurant to mark the occasion and that can only mean one thing.
Ffion tries to get to know Jan's colleague Fenisha, but she puts her foot in it by revealing Jan's lie.
Ffion is understandably hurt by this, but things get even worse when Jan becomes snowed under with work, meaning she is now unavailable in the evening.
The newcomer understands but asks her wife to be more honest with her in the future.
A thrilled Stirling commented: "I am entirely delighted to be joining the longest-running emergency medical drama television series in the world... what's not to be thrilled about!
"The added bonus is of course the folk that work on this fantastic show, I could not have felt more personally welcomed or professionally supported in what is often a bit of a nerve-racking build-up to your first day's filming.

A delighted Casualty and Holby City boss Simon Harper said: "We've had Jan's off-screen marriage up our sleeve for some time now and are really excited to explore it – not least with an actor as distinguished as Stirling, whom we are thrilled to welcome to the Casualty company, playing alongside the brilliant Di Botcher.
"Jan has a huge and terrifying story coming up in the next series where Ross comes into her life again – and given that Ross is pretty dodgy and Ffion is a police officer, it's all going to get pretty turbulent!"
