Saffron Barker claims she ‘nearly died’ & was ‘covered in bruises’ after dangerous stunts filming The Real Dirty Dancing

SAFFRON Barker has claimed she 'nearly died' and was covered in bruises as she takes part in E4’s The Real Dirty Dancing.
The 21-year-old star, who will be recreating the famous moves from the 1987 romantic film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, has opened up about the extensive training that was very "physically demanding".
The Strictly star said she "fell over every day" during rehearsals as she threw herself out of her comfort zone.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Saffron said: "I nearly died, we were trying to do the lift, there were falls every day.
"I was covered in bruises, I’ve never had so many bruises in my life."
Apart from the nerve-racking dance steps to learn, Saffron admitted that she was left blushing as she got up close and personal with her dance partner.
"But also I’ve never been so outside my comfort zone because it was Dirty Dancing – it wasn’t like nice Ballroom and Latin like Strictly," Saffron explained.
"When I go clubbing I do two step, I’m not grinding on people, so it was definitely a new experience.
"It was more physically demanding and outside my comfort zone, especially with strangers.
"Going in a ballroom hold is fine but Dirty Dancing like grinding on a stranger, that’s not normal to me."
She added: "It’s literally the best thing that I’ve done. I know I said that about Strictly too but genuinely it was just as fun as Strictly."
The Celebrity Circle star has also revealed that she's rooting for The Vamps star Connor Ball to win Dancing on Ice.
"I’m watching Dancing on Ice – I want Connor to win.

"I knew him because I went on tour with The Vamps years and years ago, when I first started YouTube and I knew all the boys and became good friends with them.
"It’s weird because I actually haven’t seen him in a while but I’m backing him and I think he’s doing really well.
"I felt bad for him when he cut himself and his turn didn’t go right.”
YouTuber Saffron is no stranger to dancing - she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019.
The 21-year-old really impressed as she foxtrotted alongside AJ Pritchard and has clearly caught the performance bug.
