Coronation Street star looks unrecognisable with greasy hair in first TV role
CORONATION Street star Katie McGlynn looks all but unrecognisable in a picture she posted on Instagram today.
The actress, 29, was paying tribute to Waterloo Road - the soap she started out on - by sharing a picture of her character.
Katie told her followers: “Major throwback… I honestly owe so much to @waterlooroad and Ms Jodie ‘Scout’ Allen - the TV role that started my career and one that I’ll never forget …
"Even if they did make me ride a BMX, dye my hair an awful brown colour and cover it in grease!”
She jokingly added to her followers: “Imagine looking like this on TV. Wouldn’t change Scout for the world though.”
Katie began playing tomboy Jodie ‘Scout’ Allen on the Rochdale-based series in 2011.

She joined the cast in Series 4 but did not have a speaking part until Series 7 and has been a popular character ever since.
Scouts storylines covered her struggling to provide for her family and resorting to stealing food and working as a courier for the local drug dealer.
Despite her dodgy jobs Scout scored great grades at school and the popular series ran from 2006 - 2015.
Jodie ‘Scout’ Allen was last seen saying she would "go off to university to do teacher training and then come back to show you all how it's done."

Before it was announced that Waterloo Road was coming back to TV, Katie said she would love to return to play a teacher.
However she wasn’t cast in the current series as she works on other projects.
After Waterloo Road, Katie played Sinead Tinker in Coronation Street but her character sadly died in 2020 from cervical cancer.
Since then she has starred in Hollyoaks and also appeared on Strictly.
