ELLA-MAE Rayner is due to make a name for herself as she joins the new series of Gladiators.

She is making an appearance as Comet and is definitely prepared to show off her skills, but who is she?

Who is Ella-Rae Rayner?

Ella-Rae Rayner is set to join the Gladiators cast as one of the new line-up and will be called Comet.

She is prepared for the challenge as she has extensive experience when it comes to a variety of sports.

She is a former elite gymnast and made the move into semi-professional in diving before starting her degree in Sport Science.

At university she coached and competed in University Cheerleading Championships.

Talking about her upcoming role, Ella-Mae said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be Comet. I loved watching Gladiators growing up.

"I specifically remember Jet, she was an icon for me as a child and one of the reasons I become a gymnast.

"I can't believe I will be following in her footsteps. It really is a dream come true."

She often shares workout tips and routines for her fans to follow.

The new series of Gladiators will return to our screens on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

The series will air on BBC One at 5:50pm and will be available to watch afterwards on BBC iPlayer.

The 11-part series will be hosted by Bradley Walsh and his son Barney.

Gladiators first graced our screens on ITV back in 1992 and ran for eight seasons.

Ulrika Jonsson and John Fashanu were the original hosts, with Jeremy Guscott joining later.

After it was taken off screens in 2000, it was later revived by Sky in 2008 and Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher were the hosts.

Kirsty was then replaced by Caroline Flack for the second season the following year, but the series was then cancelled.
