POINT TAKEN

You could be the brainiest in Britain if you get ANY of these Pointless questions correct – they left finalists stumped

THE aim of most quiz shows is simple - answer all the questions correctly to bag enough points to win the grand prize.

But when it comes to BBC One's Pointless, the 'point' is to achieve as LOW a score as possible, with contestants wracking their brains to come up with answers no-one else can think of.

The hit teatime show, fronted by Alexander Armstrong and a whole host of guest celebrities following Richard Osman's departure last year, is a fan favourite.

In each episode four teams of two attempt to come up with the correct - but little-known - answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions.

A panel of 100 people have also answered the questions, and the competing teams score points for the number of times their answers was cited in the survey.

'Pointless' answers are correct responses that were not given by anyone surveyed at all, scoring zero points.
