‘Bigger, better, harder and more disgusting’
A source told The Sun: “ITV has not come to play this year. The brief to teams was bigger, better, harder and more disgusting than ever.
“Gone are the days of Helen Flanagan and Kim Woodburn shrieking through trials, and it’s been ages since our last ‘Get Me Out Of Here!’ when a celeb refuses to take part.
“They’ve all got tougher and more professional as nobody wants to be seen as a quitter. Bosses are determined to really push the line-up this year.”
Twelve top names set to enter the jungle
This year's show is set to be one of the best yet with twelve top names from the worlds of Westminster, Albert Square and even the MasterChef kitchen.
The famous dozen will soon be diving into camp life and the new set up is like nothing that has come before.
First look pictures at this year's camp have revealed there is even a temple on site complete with spider monument and circular altar.

Tony Bellew reveals family tragedy
I’m a Celebrity’s Tony Bellew has been hit by family tragedy a day before the show’s launch.
The boxer, 40, was revealed earlier this week to be one of this year’s two latecomer campmates along with jockey Frankie Dettori.
Ahead of the first episode of the show’s new season, Bellew shared on Instagram that his beloved grandmother passed away.
"Goodnight Nan! I’ll love you forever girl,” he wrote in a touching tribute to his late grandma alongside a series of photos.
Jamie Lynn Spears checked with family before joining I’m a Celeb
Jamie Lynn Spears says she had to get the go-ahead from her family before joining the upcoming season of I’m a Celebrity.
"When they (the show) approached me, the first thing I had to do was talk it over with my family and my kids to make sure they were OK about me being gone for this amount of time," she told PA.
Spears’ pop star older sister Britney, who lived under a strict conservatorship controlled by her father for 13 years, detailed the sisters’ fractured relationship over the years in her recent memoir The Woman In Me.
Marvin Humes will put himself through the show
He shot to fame as part of X Factor boyband JLS, and now TV bosses think the Primetime TV host will be be the perfect fit for the jungle.
Marvin, 38, and wife Rochelle Humes, 34, are best known for stints on This Morning but have also presented smash BBC gameshow The Hit List since 2019.
And execs think that the star has broad appeal as a jungle source said: “Marvin is a brilliant signing.
"Not only is he known to fans of The X Factor and fans of JLS, but the audience for The Hit List and This Morning spans from kids right through older viewers.
"And with Rochelle’s backing, he’s got a ready made fan base.
"He’ll have lots of showbiz stories to tell, too, from his 15 years in the limelight.”
The source added: "The fact he’s remained a bit of a pin-up doesn’t hurt, either, and bosses hope he’ll make use of the jungle shower!"
Sam reveals 'strain' on relationship with Zara
Sam Thompson says being on I’m a Celebrity will be a “strain” on his relationship with girlfriend Zara McDermott.
The Made in Chelsea star, 31, is part of this year's I'm a Celeb line-up and this weekend joins a whole host of famous faces in camp.
Thompson and Strictly Come Dancing star McDermott, 26, have been dating since 2019, and live together in his native Chelsea.
However, Thompson admits the nature of the couple’s overlapping schedules has meant a lot of time apart.
Grace Dent will be hoping to avoid the eating trials this year
MasterChef guest judge Grace Dent will take part in I’m A Celeb this year — despite once speaking about the show in less than glowing terms.
The TV food critic, 50, branded the series “a puerile venture into starvation, televised constipation and animal cruelty, abbreviated by ads for Iceland £1 curries".
However, it seems she has had second thoughts about the show and is now set to appear in the jungle herself.
What shows have Ant and Dec presented?
Ant and Dec are widely regarded as Britain's most popular double act, being at the front of some of the UK's biggest shows for over 20 years.
They have fronted a number of shows, but really hit the big time when they presented children’s Saturday morning show SMTV Live, which launched the career of Cat Deeley, as well as CD:UK, a music chart show.
After moving away from children's television, they found success with Saturday Night Takeaway, which first aired in 2002 and are also well known for fronting I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and Britain's Got Talent.
In May, 2023, it was announced that Ant and Dec were quitting Saturday Night Takeaway after the conclusion of their 20th series in 2024.
The pair revealed this on their shared Instagram page, with Ant saying: “We love making Saturday Night Takeaway, but reaching the milestone of 20 series seemed like the perfect time to pause for a little while and catch our breath.”
Dec added: “We still have a momentous 20th series to look forward to first so we will do our best to go out (for now) with a bang in 2024.”
Here are some of the many shows Dec has presented alongside Ant:

Soap star Danielle will enter the jungle
Back in September we revealed that Danielle Harold was in talks to appear on I’m A Celebrity.
Fans were heartbroken as her character, Lola Pearce, passed away in May from a terminal brain tumour in a heartbreaking storyline.
The 31-year-old Eastenders actress received huge plaudits and went onto win the gong for Serial Drama Performance at this year's National Television Awards.
A telly source said: "Danielle is at the height of her career and in demand after her moving storyline on EastEnders, but she’s really caught the eye of ITV bosses to appear in the upcoming series of the jungle.
"As well as being a talented actress with a huge fanbase, Danielle has a fun personality with a wicked sense of humour, which makes her the ideal campmate for the show.
Danny Cipriani's cryptic post amid I'm a Celebrity rumours
Danny Cipriani has shared a cryptic quote after rumours he was forced to pull out of I’m a Celebrity.
The former England rugby player reportedly decided not to take part in this year’s I’m a Celebrity after splitting from wife Victoria Rose.
Cipriani shared a lengthy message on Instagram with a cryptic quote about “following your heart.”
Josie Gibson early favourite to win I'm A Celebrity
TV presenter Josie Gibson is the bookies’ favourite to be crowned the next jungle queen.
Gibson leads betting company Coral’s odds for the new series of I’m A Celebrity at 3-1, slightly ahead of Fred Sirieix at 4-1.
"Josie and Fred have been the most popular contenders in the build up to the new series of I'm A Celeb, so their backers will be hoping they take to jungle life in style," said Coral's David Stevens.
"At the other end of the betting, Jamie-Lynn Spears is a 33-1 outsider, so may not be on our screens for long.”
Coral’s I’m A Celebrity odds:
3-1 Josie Gibson, 4-1 Fred Sirieix, 5-1 Nigel Farage, Sam Thompson, 7-1 Danielle Harold, Frankie Dettori, 10-1 Marvin Humes, 14-1 Tony Bellew, 20-1 Grace Dent, 25-1 Nick Pickard, Nella Rose, 33-1 Jamie-Lynn Spears.
Frankie has one big concern
Retired jockey Frankie, 52, is already down under for racing season, and is set to arrive in Brisbane within days.
A source exclusively revealed to The Sun: “Frankie is excited for the jungle but is just worried about who will do his hair while he is there!”
Frankie — known for his “flying dismounts” after race wins — is also famed for his style off the racecourse.
Over the years, the diminutive Italian has sported a Peaky Blinders-style undercut and even tried a bleach blond buzz cut.
Where do celebs go after being dumped?
After spending days or even weeks in the jungle, celebs need a place to relax and recuperate.
During previous instalments of the show, the celebs have stayed in the Palazzo Versace hotel on Australia's Gold Coast, after they exit the jungle.
However, 2022 saw a massive shake up, and now evicted stars and their families are booked into the nearby Marriott, also on the Gold Coast, instead.
Will Jamie-Lynn Spears spill the beans on Britney?
Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn will appear in the jungle and is set to spill the beans on her famous sibling.
Bosses are hoping the 32-year-old mum of two will tell all about life with the pop megastar after their huge spat in recent years.
It comes just weeks after the Toxic singer, 41, branded her a "total b****" in her bestselling autobiography.
Britney had lived under a controlled by her father for 13 years.
Who won I’m A Celebrity 2022?
On November 27, 2022, Former England footballer Jill Scott won I’m a Celebrity 2022.
The star won over the public as soon as she entered the jungle with her humour and her immense bravery during her Bushtucker trials.
She became a household name after England won the UEFA Women’s Euro in 2022.
Following her I’m A Celeb win, Jill said: “When I first stepped into the jungle and looked around at all of the celebrities, no way am I getting anywhere near that final.
“To be part of the final three with Owen and Matt… God, it just means the world, it really does.”
Nella Rose the social media queen
Nella, 24, is the youngest contestant to appear in this year’s series.
The social media queen has a million followers on TikTok, almost 800,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel and 892,000 on Instagram.
Nella is originally from Belgium but is now based in London.
Bosses are hoping she will connect with millenial audiences and pull in younger viewers to the show.
She has previously hosted Catfish UK on MTV.
Who was the last politician to enter the jungle?
Matt Hancock ruffled some feathers ever since his arrival in the jungle.
He entered the field of politics in 2005 as the chief of staff to George Osborne, the shadow chancellor at the time.
Hancock then rose through the ranks of the Conservative Party to become Health Secretary in July 2018.
Some celebs weren’t too happy to see the former Health Secretary taking part in the show due to being a serving MP.
He was heavily questioned by some of the campmates about how he handled the coronavirus pandemic and why he wanted to go onto the show.
In the end, the former Health Secretary was able to hold is head high after finishing third place.
Nigel Farage reveals which Bushtucker Trials he’ll be exempt from
Nigel Farage has lifted the lid on which Bushtucker Trials he will be swerving in the jungle because of health issues.
The politician and GB News presenter has cheated death several times in his life and has been left with a long list of chronic injuries as a result.
This means Nigel, 59, will be exempt from taking part in specific trials on I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun before the new series kicks off this weekend, the former UKIP leader confirmed exactly what he won't be allowed to do.
"Well, anything involving weightlifting, I'd be out because I've obviously had some quite serious physical injuries and neck reconstructions and goodness knows what else," Farage said.
"So they are fully aware that I'm a little bit damaged when it comes to bodily structure. But having said that, I can still do most things."
Can you stay at the hotel used for I'm A Celeb?
Much like any other I'm A Celeb contestant, members of the public can treat themselves to a stay in the hotel.
A one night stay will set you back from £256 a night.
However, one of the JW Marriott’s high-end suites with an ocean view costs from £650 a night.
The hotel says: "Unwind at a five-star resort in the town of Surfers Paradise.
"JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa boasts luxurious rooms, award-winning service and a covetable hotel location on Ferny Avenue.
"Attend events at Gold Coast Convention Centre, treat the family to Sea World Gold Coast and stroll the beautiful beaches of Surfers Paradise.
"Our redesigned hotel rooms and suites offer an ideal setting to relax, complete with high-speed Wi-Fi, plush bedding and pristine marble bathrooms.
"Wake up feeling refreshed and ready for adventure in Surfers Paradise.
"We offer family-friendly resort facilities, from peaceful saltwater lagoons and an outdoor freshwater pool with a slide to a fitness centre and Sport Court.

"Leave your family vacation to Surfers Paradise richer than when you arrived at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa."
Where is the I'm A Celebrity hotel?
After spending weeks eating beans and rice and undertaking disgusting Bushtucker Trials, the I'm A Celebrity campmates need somewhere to rest their weary heads.
A telly insider said in 2022: “ITV has used the Versace ever since the series came to Queensland in 2004.
"Those classic scenes of the muddy, exhausted celebs arriving in the glamorous, gleaming lobby are part of I’m A Celeb’s very fabric.
“The new hotel is lovely, but just different to the bouji opulence of the Versace, which is so well-known to viewers.”
What are the most famous Bushtucker Trials?
- Carol Vorderman and Scarlett Moffatt - The pair took on a dreaded eating trial called 'm A Celebrity Big Bush Bake Off. Scarlett was seen gagging as chomped on turkey testicles.
- George Shelley - In a task called Cloudy with a Chance of Pigs balls, George Shelley had to rip open pigs balls to find three stars. Those real-size pig balls also hit him in the head a few times.
- Alison Hammond and Kayla Collins - Alison Hammond and Kayla Collins had to sit and put alive and kicking insects in their mouths for 20 seconds. This included grasshoppers, giant burrowing cockroaches, water spiders, yabbies and a stick insect.
- Frankie Bridge and Naughty Boy - These two campmates took on Castle Scary-oke, which was far more gruesome than the Halloween-esque name sounds. The pair had to sing whilst being dunked in slime and critters.
- Alex Best - Alex Best, known for being the ex-wife of footballer George Best, took on the Tunnel of Trouble. The challenge saw the model crawl through five tanks containing all manner of creepy crawlies, all while trying to pick up 10 stars with her mouth to win meals for the camp.
What are the I'm A Celebrity Bushtucker Trials?
A Bushtucker Trial is a task which the I'm A Celebrity contestants must complete in order to win meals for camp.
The more stars they collect during a task, the more meals they win.
If they fail to win any stars then they have to survive off basic staples - like beans and rice.
Each trial usually involves getting close to Aussie critters like cockroaches, maggots and snakes.
Stars faced added pressure at first trial
Crew slathered Sam Thompson, Grace Dent, Danielle Harold and Fred Sirieix in sun cream to protect against the very high UV levels of 8, while continually beckoning the celebs under umbrellas and into the shade.
Then just 20 minutes after filming of the knee-trembling trial wrapped, thunder clouds descended, entirely shrouding the building.
Wind whipped across the beachfront and rain and hail began pelting down.
A source said: “The changing weather has the team in overdrive - one minute the celebs are boiled and the next they’re soaking wet.
“This is the most extreme weather in years and it’s making logistics a nightmare. Plans keep changing with each hour that passes as they tick down to launch.
“Obviously with 22 series under their belts, the I’m A Celebrity team have handled almost all weather so swung into action to safely support the celebs.”
