Inside Celebrity MasterChef star Wynne Evans’ incredible home with vintage cinema seats and ‘pride and joy’ bathroom
WYNNE Evans has given fans a look inside his very quirky home, which he has spent six years transforming.
The Celebrity Masterchef winner, 61, moved into the property following his divorce and has revealed it was “unlivable at the time” and he wasn’t even sure he wanted it.
He told : “But I bought it because it had a lot of original architecture and details inside. I mean the ceilings and the doors are just amazing.
“I’ve never seen ceilings like it – it’s like a stately home, incredible. It was in a bit of a mess, windows missing, practically derelict, and I was at the lowest point of my life so I remember thinking: 'What an idiot – why have you bought this house? It is a chain around your neck.'"
The Welsh opera singer wanted to make sure the home was quickly liveable for his two children and transformed their rooms.
He admits it was a tough time, saying: "I already had my daily radio show, doing the GoCompare adverts – people would have thought I was successful but there I was in my dead parents’ bed which I’d brought up from Carmarthen and sleeping in a bedroom with no glass in the window. It was not what you’d expect."

Now the home is full of character – full of his “flamboyant style.
The incredible living room features a turret and there are nods to his famous Go Compare advert around the place – including his moustache in a frame.
The bathroom is one of Wynne’s favourite rooms, he said: “When you walk into the bathroom it’s a proper 'wow factor' – it’s got a very deep copper bath with a stainless steel inside plus a massive walk-in shower behind it.”
And of course Wynne has a very stylish kitchen, which he says is set to get remodelled soon now he’s taken his cooking up a gear after Masterchef.

There is a large piano in the music room - and vintage cinema chairs, adding real character to the place.
He added about the home: “I’ll never leave and that’s why I’m really happy to spend money on it – it’s not for resale, it’s for me to live in.
"It’s weird because when I moved there I really didn’t want to be there because I wanted to be back with my ex-wife and slowly, slowly, slowly, this house has become my happy home. It wasn't an instant thing, and I think I love it even more because of that."
