BBC Breakfast and Morning Live announce massive schedule shake-up for 2024

THE BBC has announced a massive schedule shake-up for Breakfast and Morning Live to ring in 2024.
Breakfast presenter Jon Kay, 54, revealed the shock news on X - formerly Twitter this evening, much to the surprise of fans.
He wrote, "It’s a big week for the #BBCBreakfast team. From now on, the programme will be 15 minutes longer Mon-Fri.
"Then at 0930 our friends and neighbours @BBCMorningLive take over - and their show has been extended, too! The UK’s two biggest morning shows just got BIGGER!"
Breakfast was previously broadcast from 6:00am to 9:15am, with Morning Live airing for 45 minutes until 10:00am.
Jon's followers were delighted with the schedule change.

One commented, "Can't wait and happy new year to you all," with others adding, "Yippee," and, "Great news."
BBC Breakfast is the UK's most watched morning news show, but for the first time in over a decade, it got a makeover this summer.
The show launched an all-new 'multi-purpose' studio which is also shared with BBC Sport, located in the heart of Media City in Salford.
At the time, the BBC said the studio features the latest broadcasting technology which include new high-tech graphics.

Jon fronts the programme with Sally Nugent from Monday to Wednesday, while Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt host from Thursday to Saturday.
Morning Live was launched in October 2020 and is shown at the same time as ITV's Lorraine.
Michelle Ackerley, Gethin Jones, Kym Marsh and Helen Skelton present the magazine programme from its Manchester studios, following its move from Broadcasting House in London.
