Lorraine Kelly says she doesn’t like posh events because she’s ‘working class’ & reveals why she HATES red carpets

LORRAINE Kelly has revealed she doesn't like attending posh events because of her upbringing.
The legendary TV presenter says that she still considers herself "working class," despite being one of the biggest stars on daytime television.
The 64-year-old telly queen, who hosts a morning chat show on ITV, has spent 40 years on screen even admitted to hating red carpet events, despite attending many.
Lorraine told Kaye Adams on her How to be 60 podcast that she is proud of her background but doubts herself at "posh events" sometimes, according to .
She said: "I still have working class cringe, that voice if you get an invitation to say go and meet for some charity thing. You go, "Oh God, I can’t go."
"It’s weird, I know it’s silly and I talk to myself about it and say don’t be daft, but I still have that kind of feeling... but yes, I do consider myself working class and I’m very proud of it."
Lorraine, who lives in Berkshire with her cameraman husband Steve, also explained why she feels uncomfortable attending glitzy celeb bashes and red carpets - something else she attributes to her upbringing in Scotland.
She added: "For a start, it’s a faff, you’ve got to get ready. It’s probably a Scottish thing – don’t get too big for your boots, don’t draw attention.
"I’m not daft, I know things will stop eventually. But I never take it for granted."
It comes after Lorraine bagged a major new role on the panel of a hit ITV primetime show.
