A STAR of popular Channel 4 sitcom The IT Crowd has spoken out about the show's potential reboot - 11 years after it was last seen on screens.
Katherine Parkinson played the role of Jen Barber in the sitcom, the programme's department head who has a very limited knowledge of IT.
The programme first launched in February 2006 and became a surprise hit for the network.
The show's final ever series aired in 2010 and while a fifth series was planned and commissioned it was ultimately shelved over conflicting schedules for cast and crew.
Nonetheless, they filmed a one-off special in 2013 as a "goodbye" to the show.
Now, Katherine has put to bed any rumours that the show could be making any sort of return.

Admitting that she had moved on, Katherine told The Sun's TV Mag that a reboot was unlikely.
When asked if a spin-off or more series were planned, she said: "I don’t think so.
"I love that people still watch it but it was so long ago that I did it and it was at a different time in my life.
"I was very grateful for it, it was really fun. I would like to do another studio sitcom though.

"My children love watching studio sitcoms and when I watch I go: 'Oh, that looks fun'."
Reflecting on her time on the sitcom, Katherine said: "The IT Crowd was a really different experience because it was a studio sitcom.
"You were building up to the show with the audience so it was almost more like doing a play in a way.
"This is very relaxed because you do take after take and you don’t get nervous, which is really nice.
Katherine will soon be returning to screen as part of a new BBC sitcom Here We Go which kicks off airing on Friday February 2.
