First look at Clueless musical as lead star wears Alicia Silverstone’s original outfit – 30 years later

IT WAS the news that Clueless fans had been waiting for, the smash hit film was being turned into a West End Show.
The musical adaptation of the hit 90s film is about to open in London and to celebrate this The Sun is giving you a first look at the hotly-anticipated stage show.
Much like the Clueless movie, the musical follows Cher Horowitz as she navigates High School as a hopeless romantic, with a BIG credit card and even BIGGER wardrobe.
In original 1995 film, the Beverly Hills teen was played by Alicia Silverstone.
The character is famous for her plaid Dolce and Gabbana yellow mini skirt and matching jacket, which is picked from her computerised closet - something which was ahead of its time.
While Cher is admittedly spoilt and a stereotypical 'popular girl', her heart is always in the right place.
New pictures have now emerged from the new Clueless musical which show actress Emma Flynn wearing Cher's iconic outfit.
The rising star looked the spitting image of how actress Alicia looked, when she also wore the classic ensemble.
Emma is joined in the cast by Keelan McAuley, who plays her step-brother Josh (and later love interest), who was originally played by Hollywood star Paul Rudd.
Clueless kicks off tomorrow (February 15) at the West End's Trafalgar Theatre and is currently scheduled to run until June this year.
The musical reads: "Cher Horowitz is the most popular student at Beverly Hills High, renowned for her unique talent at finding love for others.
"She's about to embark on her biggest project yet – making
over her awkward new friend, Tai, and setting her up with the most handsome boy in school.
"But what happens to Cher when, for the first time, everything is not perfect?
"This fresh musical comedy is fun, fashionable, and, like, so way cool."
The Clueless musical has been brought to life again by its original screenwriter, Amy Heckerling.
Last month it was revealed how noughties pop star KT Tunstall, 49, has written the score for the Clueless musical.
The star was handpicked to curate the music for the new stage show.
The Suddenly I See singer has developed the original music to accompany the upcoming run of performances.
She teamed up with Grammy Award winner Glenn Slater who has written the lyrics to accompany the music.
Glenn has extensive experience in musical theatre having written for both The Little Mermaid and Sister Act.
Teasing what attendees of the play can expect from the music, a statement said: "Together they bring a modern, musical vibe to the score blending the spirit of the 90s with a fresh contemporary sound."
Clueless is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year after arriving in cinemas in 1995.
The film was a huge smash hit, and has entertained film fans ever since.
Leading lady Alicia - who is now 48 - previously paid tribute to the flick, and told Vogue: “I found Cher on the page to be materialistic and unappealing. And really annoying, to be honest.
"But I realised that was just me judging her.
"Once I started working on her I found all the heart and all the love.”
