FORMER Towie star James Argent has been supporting Freddy Brazier amid concerns for this welfare.

Arg, 37, has been good friends with Freddy, 20, and his brother Bobby over the years and in recent weeks has become a real rock for the family - offering his advice and home as a sanctuary.

Freddy’s TV presenter dad Jeff Brazier has made the tough decision to launch legal proceedings to stop the youngster from seeing his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden.

Jack Tweed, who was married to Freddy and Bobby's mum Jade Goody, has now revealed how Arg has stepped up after overcoming his own issues, including an addiction battle.

He told us: “He’s friends with Arg, he was around his the other day and Arg likes helping people, so he gave me a call and said Freddy is not in the best places, so I spoke to him for a good few hours then.”

Talking about Arg, Jack, 37, said: “He's a good geezer. He's always ringing me, checking up.”

Explaining why he is such a good influence for Freddy,  Jack continued: “I helped him [Arg] with his addiction, but luckily, good for him, he's on the right path now and he's doing really well for himself.

“He's probably a good person to talk to if you're in a bad situation because he's been through everything and come out stronger the other side.”

Arg has been very honest about his addiction and in 2020 opened up on suffering two near-fatal overdoses at home.

James has admitted to being a heavy cocaine user for seven years, sparking fears among his loved ones that he could be the next celebrity to die.

He has been sober for a number of years and has lost over 14 stone after a huge life overhaul.

Last week The Sun told how Jeff has hired a leading barrister for the upcoming hearing to prevent Freddy from seeing Jade’s mum.

During last year’s BBC show Celebrity Race Across The World, Freddy spoke openly about his challenges with mental health and his relationship with his father who raised him and Bobby after Jade passed away following her battle with cervical cancer 2009.

He said of his relationship with his dad: “At times where I’ve pushed him away he has pulled even harder to pull me back in.

“I don’t think I praise my dad enough for everything he has done for me but he knows the love.”

Freddy, who lives with bi-polar and ADHD - regularly stays with gran Jackiey in South East London and has posted a video on TikTok of himself openly taking drugs at her flat in Bermondsey.

Recently Freddy also posted a video of her making a foul mouthed rant at him where she is quoted as saying: ‘’Do you hear me? Don’t f***ing do it no more, don’t Fred, Please don’t. Don’t f***ing talk to me like you talk outside, if that’s the case f*** off. Yeah f*** off.’’

How to protect yourself against cervical cancer

CERVICAL cancer is most commonly diagnosed in women in their early 30s, with around 3,200 new cases and 850 deaths each year in the UK.

According to CRUK, the five-year survival rate is around 70 per cent - and the earlier it is caught, the better.

Cervical screening programmes and HPV vaccines have reduced rates and save 4,000 lives each year.

It is vital you attend your smear test and get jabbed when invited, and that you know the symptoms of cervical cancer to look out for.

These aren’t always obvious, and they may not become noticeable until the cancer has reached an advanced stage.

But you might notice:

  • Unusual bleeding (often after sex, between periods, or after the menopause)
  • Pain and discomfort during sex
  • Vaginal discharge (often unpleasant smelling)
  • Pain in your lower back, between your hip bones or in your lower tummy

Women are invited to have regular cervical screenings between the ages of 25 and 64. How often depends on your age.

The HPV vaccine, which helps protect against the virus, is recommended for children aged 12 to 13 and people at higher risk from HPV.
