One of Sky’s longest-running and most-loved entertainment shows, A League of Their Own will be celebrating its incredible run with a final farewell series.

After fifteen years in the top-flight of TV, the comedy programme is set for one final glorious season.

The team will begin filming its farewell series in Manchester this August — in front of its largest live audiences to date — ahead of airing later this year.

Launched in 2010, the multi-Bafta award-winning show has become one of Sky’s most successful and enduring entertainment formats.

League of Gentlemen

Over 15 years and 20 series, it has delivered unforgettable moments, gravity-defying challenges, and unbeatable banter.

It has also had a star-studded guest list that has included everyone from Premier League legends and Olympic champions to Hollywood A-listers and pop icons.

The 20th series will celebrate everything that has made the show such a hit — with more laugh-out-loud games, surprise guests and sporting chaos — all culminating in a joyful send-off to a truly iconic TV series.

Romesh Ranganathan will return to host the 20th anniversary series, alongside team captains Jamie Redknapp and Jill Scott, and series regular Micah Richards.

Phil Edgar-Jones, Executive Director of Original Unscripted at Sky, said: Series 20 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate everything A League of Their Own has achieved and to give it the send-off it truly deserves.

“We’re incredibly proud of the show — it’s been a cornerstone of Sky’s entertainment line-up for fifteen years and has delivered endless laughter, heart, and unforgettable moments.

"Huge thanks to the brilliant team at CPL Productions and to our fantastic on-screen line-up — Romesh, Jamie, Jill and Micah — who continue to bring such energy and chemistry to the show.”

Andy Murray shows off his rapping talents on A League Of Their Own

Murray Boland, Creative Director, CPL Productions said: “The first episode of A League of Their Own was broadcast in March 2010.

"The idea we’d still be making the show in 15 years’ time, having also made nine series of ALOTO Road Trips and won two BAFTAs would’ve sounded totally impossible.

"It’s been an incredible journey.  We would like to thank all the amazing performers, guests and sports stars for all the laughs and inspiration.

"We’d also like to thank all the brilliant people who’ve worked so hard on the production team and crew.

“Thank you to Sky for allowing us the privilege of making the show and a huge thank you to the fans who have watched and supported the show over the years

The panel game show was hosted for the first 13 series by James Corden before Romesh took over as the host.
