GOOD Morning Britain was subject to a huge show shake-up as Susanna Reid left the studio to front the ITV series from an iconic London landmark.

She was joined in the capital on the 80th Anniversary of VE Day by weather presenter Laura Tobin, 43, who was surrounded by ceramic poppies as she gave her forecast from the grounds of the Tower of London.

One such veteran was former Royal Navy serviceman Thomas Cuthbert, aged 99.

In their emotional discussion, which saw Thomas joined by his family, Susanna held his hand as they discussed the importance of the VE Day anniversary.

He said: "It is very important, it reminds me of other people that have been lost during the war."

He added: "It's to remind people in the country how people gave up their lives."

Susanna told him: "We want to pay tribute to you but typically veterans want to pay tribute to those who didn't make it."
