Who is Strictly It Takes Two presenter Fleur East and when was she on X Factor?
FLEUR EAST first found fame on The X Factor but has since made a name for herself as a famous TV and radio presenter.
She won the hearts of the public after taking part in the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing with pro dancer Vito Coppola and she has since been confirmed as Rylan Clark's replacement on the BBC ballroom competition's sister show It Takes Two.
Who is Fleur East?
Fleur East is a singer and broadcaster who was born in London on October 29, 1987.
The star was the runner-up to Ben Haenow in The X Factor final in 2014 and, despite not winning the show, signed with Simon Cowell's Syco label in 2015.
Her debut single Sax was hugely popular and reached number three in the UK charts.
She released her first album, Love, Sax and Flashbacks, in 2015 and her second, Fearless, was released in 2020.
Fleur parted ways with Syco in 2018 and signed with Hunter Corp Records.
As well as her music career, Fleur is a successful presenter.
She has been hosting on Hits Radio alongside James Barr and Greg Burns since July 2019.
Fleur has had collaborations with the fashion brand Lipsy London, and has a training programme on Kayla Itsines' fitness app Sweat.
When did Fleur East join Strictly It Takes Two?
In June 2023 it was confirmed that Fleur was the new host joining Janette Manrara on It Takes Two.
The BBC confirmed Janette and Fleur will host the first episode of It Takes Two together before fronting episodes on rotation.
Former contestant Fleur will make her debut on the spin-off when Strictly returns to screens for its 21st series in late 2023.
Rylan, a former X Factor star like Fleur, announced he was stepping down from the show after four years in early 2023.
The news of Fleur’s new role was confirmed during an episode of The One Show on June 16.
Speaking about landing the gig, Fleur said: "I'm so nervous, it's a lot to take in.
"I still can't believe it in some ways. I was with my husband [when the call came in] we were away and I got a phone call from my agent and I thought 'why am I getting a call now I'm away this is weird this is fishy' and she started doing all the pleasantries and moments later she was like 'you've got It Takes Two'."
Following the announcement, Janette welcomed her new co-host to the show and said she was "so excited" to work with Fleur.
What else has Fleur East starred in?
Fleur took part in the 2018 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and made it to the semi-final.
The series was won by football legend Harry Redknapp.
Fleur has also appeared on episodes of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
