Cheryl praised as being Liam Payne’s ‘voice of reason’ in Maya Henry split – as his choices ‘directly impact’ Bear

CHERYL has been praised as being ex Liam Payne's "voice of reason" in his split from fiancee Maya Henry, it has been reported.
The 37-year-old star was vocal in guiding her former flame through his relationship woes because his choices "directly impact" their four-year-old son Bear.
The singer is said to have spoken frankly to 27-year-old Liam about his romance after noticing that something wasn't right.
A source explained: "Things had been going wrong with Maya for a while, and the engagement had just made things worse.
"As soon as they started planning the wedding, it went sour, as Liam was feeling the pressure to change a lot of things in his life."
The insider went on to : "It was Cheryl, who was telling him that if he wasn’t happy, then he needed to ‘grow a set’ and speak out.
"She saw it as her responsibility to be the voice of reason, as Liam’s choices have a direct impact on Bear."
Earlier this month, Liam confirmed he'd split from 21-year-old Maya just 10 months after their engagement in a candid podcast interview.
He'd proposed to Maya with a £3 million diamond ring in August 2020 after two years of dating, with it previously revealed that he and Maya first met when she was a 15-year-old One Direction fan who'd attended a meet-and-greet event.
Elsewhere in his podcast chat, Liam admitted that he needed to "work on himself" as he keeps on "hurting people".
He said: "I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people.
"That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships. And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships at this point.
"I'm just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else."

Liam and Cheryl split in 2018 and he has previously praised her for how easy she makes co-parenting their son.
The pair agreed that he'd primarily live with Cheryl, but she has always encouraged Liam and Bear to spend time together.
The hunk told magazine: "Cheryl is literally the best person to co-parent with. No stress involved. It's very, very relaxed, and we spend a lot of time on FaceTime.
"And it's been really lovely, and I'm closer to them than I've ever been before, actually, which is really, really nice. But bedtime FaceTime can go really well sometimes."
