At the end of their routine, the audience leaped into a standing ovation which lasted so long host Tess Daly struggled to regain control of the situation.
When Tess passed over to the judges for comments, the four all praised Oti for her choreography - which focused on a more 'tribal' theme as opposed to the more traditional 'carnival' aesthetic.
The flamboyant Bruno Tonioli was the first to shower praise on the routine and said: 'What are you doing to me?! At this time of night! I don't know if I need a drink or a cold shower! It was like watching a mating ritual!'
Head judge Len Goodman told Danny he had 'hips like a snake' and said: "He's a tease, started slow and all of a sudden...WHOLLOP!"
Even the usually cold Craig Revel Horwood was left hot under the collar as he admitted: "I found the open shirt a slight distraction!"
They were then nearly moved to tears as all the judges started whipped up their ten paddles - giving them their second forty after their charleston to Putting on the Ritz last week.
To add to the celebrations, Claudia then informed them that they had made Strictly history with their 40 - for being the first couple to ever achieve the accolade in the samba during the show's 14 seasons.
