Coronation Street’s Ben Price shocks bosses as he admits he’s proud he’s banned his kids from watching the soap and says it’s ‘unhealthy’ for them
Actor has played Nick Tilsley on Corrie since 2009 but his kids have never watched it

CORONATION Street's Ben Price has banned his kids from watching the ITV soap, admitting it would be "unhealthy" for them to see it.
The actor has played Nick Tilsley since 2009 and has been involved in some of Weatherfield's biggest storylines.
But show bosses may surprised to learn the 45-year-old has never allowed his two kids to tune in.
He told : "My kids aren’t interested in the show and I’m happy about that. I think it’s healthy that they don’t watch it. It would be too much otherwise.
“I’m very proud of the choice of not letting them watch it.”
Ben is the latest Corrie star to admit their households watch other channels rather than the latest drama in Weatherfield, after Lucy Fallon - who plays Bethany Platt - and Beverley Callard (Liz McDonald) revealed their families watched shows on the BBC on Christmas Day rather than the soap.
It's no surprise Ben isn't keen for his children to watch the soap though, considering what his alter ego has been through in recent years.
RELATED STORIES
Nick has been married twice, left brain damaged in a car accident and was part of the show's big tram crash storyline.
He has also had a running feud with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), which reignited over Christmas.
Speaking of the scenes, Ben recently told magazine: "When it comes to the Nick and Peter fight scenes, we're older now and not as fit as we once were!
"So it'll be one blow, then a bit of a rest."
The soap stud added that when they're filming the fight scenes, "sometimes things go a little wrong and you have to giggle about it".
He said: "[Chris] reminded me the other day that once when we were filming Nick hitting Peter, I ended up hitting him properly!
"Then he was meant to throw a plastic bottle at me, but forgot and threw the real one."
