Love Island star Sam Gowland joins the Geordie Shore cast – along with new signing Stephanie Snowdon

LOVE Island star Sam Gowland has swapped the villa for the Toon by joining the Geordie Shore cast.
The northerner has signed up for the next series of the show along with fellow newbie Stephanie Snowdon - and they started filming last night.
Sam hinted back in July that he would be joining the show, and The Sun Online can now exclusively reveal he's filmed his first scenes.
The TV star, who hails from Middlesbrough, was pictured hitting the town with show regulars Marnie Simpson, Chloe Ferry and Nathan Henry, and last season's newcomer Abbie Holborn.
Joining the group was another newbie, Stephanie Snowdon, 21, an HRMC manager also from the north east.
The Love Island hunk wore a floral shirt for his first outing with the girls and we can reveal it was an eventful night for Sam.
He's already been spotted flirting with castmember Abbie so there could be a new romance on the cards for him after getting dumped by his Love Island girlfriend Georgia Harrison.
A source told us: "It was in the Soho Rooms in Newcastle. He [Sam] was partying and drinking with the cast - Marnie, Chloe, Nathan - and him and Abbie were flirting loads.
"It looks like they were about to get together 'cause they were getting really close."
ALREET, RADGIES? Here’s what Geordie Shore stars including Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby have done since quitting the MTV show
Sam first hint at his move to Geordie Shore back in July with a cryptic tweet after he left Love Island.
He wrote: "Literally is best experience of my life #LoveIsland ... let's hope it's not too long before use see me back on the tele again eyy."
And the Geordie Shore cast also seem keen on the move, with Chloe Ferry 'liking' the tweet and Gaz Beadle tweeting: "I am getting Sam on GShore" back in June.
Sam joins alongside fellow newbie Stephanie, who has plenty of connections with the rest of the cast.
An insider told us: "Steph knows a load of the cast already - she's a local and she's a real party girl.
"She's wanted to be on the show for years, so she's loving the fact she's finally made it."
Steph has previously said she wants to follow in the footsteps of former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison who now had a successful TV career since leaving the show.
She told : "You can get a good career out of it.
"It’d be good experience in that house with all those crazy people.
"Everyone likes me so I’ll be fine if I got in the house."
Earlier this week, Marnie Simpson revealed there will be THREE new members of Geordie Shore after Gaz Beadle quit to become a dad and Marty McKenna was fired.
The series regular took to Snapchat to make the revelations as she prepared to say goodbye to her new boyfriend Casey Johnson and move back into the infamous MTV shag pad.
Speaking from her bed, Marnie looked fresh-faced as she said: “So I start filming today, season 16 of Geordie shore and I’m really, really, really, really, really going to miss Casey.
“It’s making me sad. I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
She then dished on the new season and said: “I’ve also heard that’s there’s going to be not one, not two, but three new people.
“Now that’s just a rumour but I’m quite intrigued to see if it’s true. Time will tell. Is it a girl? Is it a boy? We’ll soon find out.”
“One thing I am excited about is spending time with Chloe, Nathan and Sophie because we’ve all had some fun, so I’m excited about that.”
Marnie's revelation means there is still one more newbie left to be revealed - and we can't wait!
A representative for MTV had no comment when approached by The Sun Online.
