Strictly Come Dancing stars call for judge Craig Revel Horwood to quit over his cruel jibe about Stacey Dooley sleeping with Kevin Clifton

STRICTLY pros are calling for Craig Revel Horwood to quit after his “cruel” jibe about Stacey Dooley sleeping with former dance partner Kevin Clifton.
The acid-tongued judge, 54, issued a grovelling apology after he said contestants should have sex with pros like last year’s winners Stacey, 32, and Kevin, 36, who are dating.
A source said: “The cast thinks it’s completely unprofessional and rude, given his massive pay packet and position of power.
“They don’t understand how he can fairly judge now.”
Craig was savaged by bosses for the “totally unacceptable” remark made after Kevin and documentarian Stacey took to the ballroom floor during taping last week for the pre-recorded BBC1 launch show.
He said: “Stacey was dragged up from the dance gutter...of course, if you sleep with your dance partner that helps.”
Filming was halted following the remarks as aides rushed to Stacey, who was sitting in the audience with her family, but her mum Di left the studio.

Beeb sources said Craig was ordered to apologise.
He said on Saturday: “I’m deeply sorry for the offence caused to Kevin and Stacey and everyone who works on the show.
“I recognise that what I said was hurtful, cruel and incredibly disrespectful. It was a huge error of judgment that I very much regret.”
